The Chandigarh-Amritsar Inter-City Superfast Express will now have a minute's halt at Phagwara.
Union minister of state for health and family welfare Santosh Chowdhary on Monday flagged off the Amritsar-bound train on its maiden one-minute halt at the railway station here. "It will stop here at 9.30 am while going to Amritsar and at 7.05 pm on the return journey," Chowdhary said at the function.
"The train's name was changed from Duronto to Intercity Superfast Express on my suggestion for paving the way for its halt at Phagwara," she said.
"The journey from Phagwara to Amritsar will cost Rs. 60 and will be about an hour and a half long," said Goel. The train already stops at SAS Nagar, New Morinda, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Beas.
